Concrete walkway upgrade in Montreal

Quickie construction holiday project.
An often overlooked material slate makes a beautiful and surprising addition to an exterior path. The natural color irregularities and variation in texture compliment outdoor environments.
Slate stone is a great option to cover a worn or eroding concrete walkway.

Factors to consider with slate tile.

If during a Montréal winter you have used excessive salt and this caused your cement walkway to flake and pit using stone tile to cover it would be a great solution and would definitely bring the most style for your design dollar.

You could just bring in a couple concrete guys to parge the walkway but this would cost just about the same and have little added value to your property. Instead consider cover it with natural stone. In this project the home owner was able to go out side her comfort zone and take and try something different. As you can see from the pictures of the completed project it was a great design option.
When choosing the tile size consider how it will fit into you length width and height of your path. It's always best in any tile job not to be left with any small cuts pieces.

How much does it cost to cover a concrete path.

You should allow for between $10 and $15 installed, prices vary greatly between different quality and colors. An easy rule of thumb is to double the cost of the stone to cover for installation.

How long did this path take to install?
Since we calculated the proper size of stone that was needed for this path there was minimal cuts requiredsed so it was done in 2 days.
